Job Description
The Medical Technology (MT) business area in Region Östergötland is responsible for over 64,000 medical technology products within hospitals, primary care centers, and public dental care. We combine technical expertise, development, and operations, and are a natural partner in healthcare's digital and technical development. Within the accelerator area, medical technology engineers, hospital physicists, and healthcare staff work together to ensure a stable, safe, and efficient treatment environment.
As a medical technology engineer located at the radiotherapy department, you will work with the operation, service, maintenance, and development of accelerators and technically advanced systems related to radiotherapy.
The duties include, among other things:
- service, corrective, and preventive maintenance of linear accelerators and peripheral equipment
- troubleshooting and technical problem-solving in complex technical systems
- installation, verification, and commissioning as well as technical documentation
- work with quality controls, control, and information systems
- participation in development and improvement projects
- close collaboration with hospital physicists, healthcare staff, and external suppliers
In the long term, you will also work with the region's cyclotron and equipment for the production of radiopharmaceuticals.
The role suits you if you appreciate the combination of practical work, technical analysis, and long-term system understanding. Many tasks require independence, initiative, and the ability to solve technical problems methodically.
About You
We are looking for you who have a genuine technical interest and are motivated by working with advanced equipment in an operation where quality and safety are central.
You have a university or civil engineering degree, or another technical background combined with experience that the employer considers equivalent.
It is meritorious if you have experience from, for example:
- medical technology
- accelerators or radiotherapy
- automation and control systems
- electronics or advanced troubleshooting
- process industry or other technically demanding operations
As a person, you are analytical, responsible, and solution-oriented. You enjoy collaborating with others but are also comfortable driving the work forward independently. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
